That Iranian Plane that Buzzed the U.S. Navy's Aircraft Carrier

According to news accounts, the Iranian plane that approached within 1000 yards of the USS Eisenhower was not challenged by American aircraft. Imagine a similar situation in a year or two if Iran succeeds in building a nuclear device.

According to The Navy Times, the aircraft was described as an "Iranian navy Fokker F27 turboprop reconnaissance plane." [See picture of that model in Pakistani service.] It was an Iranian navy plane, not a Revolutionary Guard plane, according to reports.

The Fokker F27 flew within 1,000 yards of the Eisenhower for over 20 minutes, said military officials. The plane’s design is that of a medium sized passenger plane.
